Gowganda West

The current focus for iMetal Resources (TSX.V: IMR) is to further develop Gowganda West which comprises of 147 sq. Km and is accessible via road and is 90 minutes from Kirkland Lake (TSX: KL) (Macassa Mine, which is in the town of Kirkland Lake).

iMetal’s (TSX.V: IMR) has planned an extensive exploration program which will include:

  • Trench Zone 1 and Zone 3 in preparation for drilling  
  • Initial 2500 metre drill program for Zone 1 and Zone 3
  • Extend airborne VTEM to Zone 3

Initial surface work delivered high-grade samples. Recently (PR July 9th/21) the company began a two-week trenching program which will concentrate on Zone 1 and Zone 3, where results from the April 2021 sampling program returned highlight gold grab sample values of:

  • Zone 3 returned: 11.3 g/t, 29.6 g/t and 67.9 g/t gold;
  • Zone 1 returned: 27.2 and 16.35 g/t gold;
  • A value of 3.72 g/t gold was returned from a location approximately 400 metres NW of Zone 1

Hitting grab samples of up to 67.9 g/t gold and intercepting a channel sample of 23.67 g/t over 0.30 m has indicated some impressive targets.

“We have completed the mechanical trenching program at the key target areas of the Gowganda West property and the samples are awaiting assay at ALS Minerals in Thunder Bay, ,” commented iMetal President & CEO Saf Dhillon. “The trenching opened up Zone 1 and Zone 3 exposing the structures along strike further defining the 2019 IP interpretations. A 2500 metre drill program is planned for late Q3 to follow up on the trenching results,” he concluded.

Gold was first discovered in the Shining Tree area in the 1930s.
